Privacy notice
Al-Falah English app and website assistant · Last updated: October 2026
In short: the app works fully without sharing anything. If you tap “I accept”, we record how you use the lessons so we can improve them. We never collect your phone number, your location or your contacts. You can stop and delete your data at any time. The website chat assistant sends your questions to an AI provider to answer them; we do not store them (see “Website assistant” below).
Who we are
The app and this website are run by Al-Falah Marketing (Al-Falah GlobalAI), Guinea. The app is a free English-learning app for beginners, currently in testing.
What stays on your phone
Your progress (XP, streak, hearts, completed lessons, words to review) and your language choice are saved only on your phone, in your browser storage. This works without consent and is never sent to us.
What we collect if you accept
Only after you tap “I accept”, the app sends us:
- A random ID created on your phone (not linked to your phone number).
- Your first name or nickname, only if you type one (optional).
- Activity: lessons started, completed or abandoned, correct or wrong answers, time spent, XP earned, when you run out of hearts, and when you see or tap a sponsor card.
- Basic device info: screen size, browser language, whether the app is installed on your home screen, and the app version.
We do not collect: your phone number, location, contacts, photos, or audio recordings.
Why we collect it
- To see which lessons are too hard or confusing, and fix them.
- To count how many people use and come back to the app.
- To show future sponsors anonymous totals (for example, “X learners this month”). We never give them your name or your individual activity.
We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising profiles.
Where it is stored and who sees it
The data is stored on our web hosting account (Hostinger). Only the Al-Falah Marketing administrator can open the dashboard, which is password-protected. The app itself is delivered through Netlify. Like any website, our hosting providers may keep technical server logs (such as IP addresses) for security; we do not use these to identify learners.
Speaking exercises
If you use a speaking exercise, the app asks your browser’s speech feature to listen. We do not record or receive your voice. Your browser or its provider (for example Google on Chrome) may process the audio under its own privacy rules. You can skip these exercises.
Website assistant (chat)
Our website has an AI assistant (the gold chat bubble). It only runs if you open it and type a question.
- What is sent: your question and the last few messages of the conversation (up to 10 messages, 600 characters each) are sent to an AI provider (currently Groq, a US company) to write the answer. The provider handles this data under its own privacy policy.
- What we keep: we do not store your questions or the answers on our server. To limit abuse and cost, we keep only a scrambled visitor code (not your name, and not your IP address in readable form) and the time of each question, for about two days.
- In your browser: the conversation stays in your browser tab so it is still there if you reload the page. It disappears when you close the tab or tap the ↻ button.
- Please do not type: passwords, ID or card numbers, health information or other sensitive details.
- “Request a call back” form: if you choose to fill it in, your name, phone or email and message are emailed to our team and kept in our private database so we can contact you. We use them only to answer your request, never for ads or lists. To have them deleted, write to us on WhatsApp.
- It can be wrong. The assistant is an AI, not a person. It gives general information, not a quote or a contract. For prices, quotes and anything important, talk to us on WhatsApp.
WhatsApp assistant
If you message our WhatsApp assistant, an AI answers you. It never writes to you first.
- What is sent: your message and the last few messages of the conversation are sent to an AI provider to write the answer. WhatsApp (Meta) delivers the messages under its own privacy policy, and the AI provider handles them under its own.
- What we keep: your last few questions and answers (up to 6 of each) for 24 hours, so follow-up questions make sense. They are stored with a scrambled code, not with your phone number in readable form. We use your number only to send you the reply. We do not add you to lists and we do not send marketing.
- To delete your conversation now: send STOP to the assistant. For a real person, send HUMAIN.
- To limit abuse and cost we also keep a scrambled code and the time of each message for about two days.
- Please do not send passwords, ID or card numbers or health information. The assistant is an AI: it can be wrong and does not give quotes. For prices and anything important, talk to a person.
Your choices
- Say no: tap “No thanks” and nothing is sent.
- Stop sharing: in the app, go to Profile and turn off “Partager mon utilisation (anonyme)” (share my anonymous usage).
- Delete your data: in Profile, tap “Supprimer mes données” (delete my data). This deletes your ID, name and activity from our server.
- Ask us directly: message us on WhatsApp and we will delete it for you.
- Website chat: close the tab or tap ↻ to clear the conversation from your browser. We do not keep your chat text, so there is nothing to delete on our server.
How long we keep it
During the testing phase we keep activity data until you delete it or we delete it. We will remove data we no longer need.
Children
If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before accepting data sharing. The app works the same if you decline.
Changes
If we change how we collect data, we will update this page and ask for your consent again where needed.
